My First International Trip – Flying to Thailand ✈️

Back in October 2024, I ticked off a big one from my bucket list—my first ever international trip, and it was to none other than Thailand. I boarded the flight to Bangkok solo from Indira Gandhi International Airport, Delhi, heart racing with excitement and just a pinch of anxiety. My friends were flying in separately and planned to meet me directly at our hotel in Pattaya.

What followed was seven days packed with beaches, crazy nightlife, exotic islands, and deep cultural dives. If you're planning a trip to Thailand, here’s a glimpse of what mine looked like—from roaming through Walking Street in Pattaya to cruising under the stars in Bangkok.

Don't forget to checkout photos and videos at the end of this page.

Day 1: Arrival in Bangkok – Straight to Pattaya 🛬 → 🌊

As I landed at Suvarnabhumi Airport-Bangkok, the tropical warmth instantly hit me. After clearing immigration, I met our tour rep and hopped into a private transfer straight to Pattaya. It almost took me 2 hours to reach Pattaya, checked into Golden Beach Pattaya.

The hotel was just a short walk away from the beach, perfect for chilling out after the journey. We kept it simple that evening—light dinner, some catching up, and a little beach stroll to set the mood for what was to come.

Day 2: Coral Island Tour & Nightlife Like No Other 🏝️🌃

The day kicked off with a speedboat ride to Coral Island (Koh Larn)—a beautiful escape from the city buzz. The island was a mix of turquoise waters and soft sand, with options like parasailing, underwater walks, and jet skiing.

I personally tried parasailing, banana boat ride, underwater walk, and jet skiing—and let me tell you, the adrenaline rush was unreal! Flying over the sea, bouncing through waves, and zooming across the open water was everything I hoped for in an island adventure.

Post lunch, we returned to the mainland and headed back to our hotel for a quick freshen-up before the evening highlight—Alcazar Cabaret Show. Bright lights, stunning costumes, energetic music... it was an absolute visual treat!

But the night wasn’t over.

After the show, we hit Walking Street, and let me just say—it lived up to every bit of the hype. The street was buzzing with neon signs, music blasting from every corner, people dancing, drinking, and just living life loud.

We checked out a few Russian strip clubs, adult shows (I forgot the name of the show) out of pure curiosity, just to experience what it's like in that scene. Honestly, it was more of a cultural curiosity than anything wild, but definitely something you don’t see every day.

Later, we ended up at Leela Club, and the vibe there was insane—massive crowd, killer DJ, lights everywhere, and just a crazy party mood. We didn’t get back to the hotel until almost sunrise.

Day 3: Big Buddha & Heading to Phuket ✈️

Woke up late (not surprisingly), had a quick breakfast, and headed out to visit Wat Phra Yai (Big Buddha Hill). The massive golden Buddha statue was both peaceful and powerful. The view from the hill was amazing—worth the climb even after a night of partying.

By noon, we checked out and were off to the airport to catch our flight to Phuket.

Day 4: Phi Phi Island Tour – The Beach Life 😍🌴

Phuket was everything I imagined and more. We began the day early for the Phi Phi Island Tour—starting with Maya Bay, made famous by Leonardo DiCaprio's The Beach.

We explored Monkey Beach, Viking Cave, snorkeled near vibrant coral reefs, and had lunch at Phi Phi Don. The final stop, Khai Island, was pure white sand and blue waters—a postcard come to life.

But what truly made this day unforgettable was scuba diving. Being under the ocean, surrounded by colorful marine life and coral, was a thrilling and surreal experience. It felt like entering another world, and without a doubt, it was the highlight of the entire trip for me.

Day 5: From Phuket to Bangkok – City Life Begins Again 🏙️

After a relaxed breakfast and checkout, we flew back to Bangkok and checked into The Ecotel Bangkok. The rest of the day was ours—we wandered through local street markets, tried some fire street food, and explored a few night markets nearby.

Day 6: Temples, Culture & River Cruise Magic 🛕🌆

We kicked off the day with a half-day temple tour, visiting Wat Traimit (Golden Buddha) and Mahaputram Temple—great spots to experience the spiritual and architectural depth of Thai culture.

In the evening, we dressed up for a magical experience—the Chao Phraya Dinner Cruise. Imagine dining on the deck with live music, floating past the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and the glowing skyline of Bangkok. It was a perfect wrap-up evening.

Day 7: Early Flight & Bidding Farewell to Thailand ✈️

The final day came sooner than we wanted. With an early morning flight, there wasn’t much time to do anything except pack up and check out.

We grabbed a quick breakfast at the hotel and took our private transfer to Suvarnabhumi Airport. As we looked back at the week that just flew by, we couldn’t help but smile at the memories—from high-speed adventures on the ocean to dancing the night away in Pattaya.

It was hard to say goodbye, but this trip left a mark. Thailand gave me my first international adventure, and I know for sure—it won’t be the last.
